Website Owner, Developer and Reseller Requirements
These are the basic requirements for every user who would like to use the platform:
- OS independent, meaning any browser that support JavaScript 1.2 can be used (Firefox 1+, Internet Explorer 5.5+, Mozilla 1.3+, Netscape 7+, Camino 1+, Safari 3+, Opera with some limitations etc)
- Cookies support is highly recommended
Server Requirements for Platform Installation
These are the requirement for users seeking to install the WebsPlanet platform on their servers in order to develop websites or to become a distributor (instead of using the installed servers of WebsPlanet’s regional agents):
- Database, currently supporting:
- MySQL 4+
- Oracle 8+
- Postgres 8+
- MS-SQL 2000+
- IBM DB2 8+
- Sybase 12.5+
- SQLite 3+
- Web server (Apache, Microsoft IIS, Netscape WS, Sun JSWS, Sun ONE WS or iPlanet WS) with PHP 5+ that support the following extensions:
- Database support
- GD, JPEG, PNG and EXIF: Mandatory, required for images control
- ZLib and ZIP: Mandatory, required for archives control
- MBString: Mandatory for non-English websites
- IDN: Mandatory for non-English domains
- OpenSSL: Mandatory for E-commerce websites
- SQLite: Enables websites exporting to be stand-alone, mandatory for the SSSE architecture
- Freetype: Optional, for better looking images creation
- Interfaces – optional applications that the platform can interface with in order to provide added value to website owners
- Email + Web mail
- DNS
- Web-server + Statistics
